Venus Enters Capricorn

Venus enters Capricorn on January 23, 2024, where it will remain until February 16, 2024. In astrology, Venus represents the parts within us all that are drawn to beauty, love, intimacy, art, partnership, romance, and desire. Venus is harmony, values, and self-worth. It is our ability to find pleasure in the gifts of life.

Capricorn is the building of our long-term visions, and the commitment, devotion, and patience required by this. It is the practical, responsible, consistent parts of ourselves that see things through. It is the invitation to become, in this physical world, the potential that we know we hold. And it is the invitation to live the dreams that call our name.

As Venus moves through Capricorn over the coming weeks, a gentle and loving wisdom becomes available to each of us. It asks us to take a practical, loving, and honest look at our self-love, our relationships, our creations, and our long-term visions. How do we value ourselves? What do we value in others? Which resources would bring us not just support but beauty, ease, and pleasure?

It is a beautiful time for healing our relationship with resources. It’s the kind of energy that holds space for the organization and planning of our financial realities and for open and honest interactions with ourselves and with loved ones about commitment, responsibilities, expectations, romance, and intimacy.

Signs that fall opposite one another on the same axis of the zodiac wheel, such as Aquarius and Leo, tend to embrace ends of a spectrum. Yet a careful look reveals more commonalities than differences. Leo emphasizes the self and Aquarius challenges all of humanity to focus on the collective well-being. Full Moon in Leo

Just two days after Venus enters the Earth sign of Capricorn, we experience a full Moon in the fire sign of Leo. Full Moons meet us as the Sun and Moon sit directly opposite one another in the cosmos and, not coincidentally, opposite one another on the zodiac axis. As the Sun shines in Aquarius, the Moon illuminates in Leo, highlighting the contrast not only between signs but within us as well.

While Leo represents the expression of self, Aquarius attunes us to the expression of the collective. It’s a dichotomy that each of us experience each day simply by being human—we are independent and unique individuals, yet we are a collective body.

The full Moon illuminates the reminder, over and over, that we must be who we are in all of our light. It reminds us that the collective comprises each self shining in fullness. It invites us to honor our unique expression as medicine not just for ourselves, but for everyone. And it invites us to reflect on the ways we dim that light, the ways we may hide or hinder our self-expression, and the ways we say “no” to the creative flow of life that moves through us.

What if we lived in a way that is grounded in the knowing that to be in the full expression of who we are is a gift to humanity? That to be who we are is to serve all of existence? What if we let this unique expression move freely among us?

Your Invitation From Astrology This Week

The transits this week invite a return to self, a return to commitment and love, a return to grounding ourselves through intentional breathing, and a return to appreciating the magic of your unique self-expression.

As Venus shifts into Capricorn, it brings a deep appreciation for slow and intentional movements. If life ever feels as if it is moving too quickly or strongly, you can return to those qualities at any moment to find home through grounded commitments and expressions of love for your body.

As the full Moon in Leo shines, she invites you to sit still, as she does, in awe and reverence. The world would be incomplete without you and your imprint, your story, and your art. The Moon invites you to hold up a mirror to your and everyone’s unique colors and frequencies and witness the beauty in the differences. When you honor the uniqueness you bring, you remember your connection with others. You are the Universe in motion, expressed through different vessels, temples, bodies, personalities, and minds. Allow the magic of your unique self-expression.
