What could be more important in yoga therapy than yoga?

When it comes to helping people heal with yoga, there are tonnes of effective techniques. You’ll study them all in a yoga therapy training – asana, pranayama, mudra, meditation, Ayurveda and more. But what is the MOST important technique? Turns out, it might not be yoga at all.

Research has shown that a key component in all healing modalities is the relationship between the client and the practitioner. Yoga therapy is no exception. Of course it’s important to choose the most appropriate yoga poses or breathing techniques for a student. But the respectful and caring relationship between student and therapist is the foundation for healing.

This video is a snippet of a recent live online yoga therapy training with Adore Yoga founder Nikola Ellis. Nikola is a qualified counsellor, so she knows a thing or two about professional therapeutic relationships. Watch it now and discover vital role the student-teacher relationship plays (it runs for 8 mins so grab a cuppa!)
