Therapeutic Modalities for Wellness and Healing

By Leah Lynn, Author, RYFT, Alethia Yoga

The Lord designed the human body with amazing healing properties and restoring ability. Wellness is an eclectic state of being that includes the soul (mind, will, and emotions), spirit, and body. Spiritual well-being is foundational for the body to achieve and maintain a state of well-being. Without regular communication with the Lord through prayer, scripture, meditation, and worship, the body and soul miss the most vital nutrients delivered through connection to the heavenly Father through His Son and the Holy Spirit. Though each modality discussed for wellness and healing that follows is valuable, without the practice of the above spiritual modalities, the physical modalities are incomplete. “I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,’ says the LORD.” (Jeremiah 30:17a NLT)

Various modalities, in addition to diet and exercise, help maintain physiological homeostasis and promote healing and restoration within the body. Though this is not an exhaustive list, the included modalities supplement a healthy lifestyle.
